Here comes pumpkin spice and banana bread weather, and if you live in a cold climate, that means snow flurries and winter winds. While our skin is less prone to dry out in humid, summer months, winter can zap moisture from even the healthiest skin. To help beat winter dry-out, we’ve compiled a list of proactive steps everyone can take to protect skin and minimize dry, chapped, flaky skin.
Before the winter winds blow have your heating and air units checked thoroughly and make sure they’re in good operating condition. Of particular importance is maintaining proper air duct and ventilation system function, so fresh outside air is continuously drawn in and dry, dirty air is removed. Keep the temperature set from 68 – 70 in winter. The hotter and dryer the air, the dryer your skin. Use a humidifier to add moisture into the air.
Use oils to penetrate deep into the skin. Oils deliver healing ingredients that already dry, chapped skin needs. Our Paired Fantasy Squalane & Vitmain E Oil is a good alternative that is the ultimate combination for total hydration and skin repair.
Keep skin moisturized using natural products with gentle ingredients that will hydrate and soothe skin. Avoid moisturizers with added color and fragrance that can irritate dry skin. Fragrance based products contain alcohol which can severely dry out skin. We have created 3 moisturizers based on your skins desires to fight against these cold months!
